Who writes this, and what it is not.

qupkene is written by Sindre Vestli, based in Voss in Vestland, western Norway. The name is a handle from years ago that stopped meaning anything in particular and stuck anyway.

What this is

Notes on routes, equipment and the software that ends up involved. The tech section exists because that is the part most outdoor writing hands off to a marketing page, and it is the part that is easiest to get right.

What this is not

Not a guiding service. Sindre is not a mountain guide, an instructor or a member of a rescue service. Nothing here substitutes for local advice, current conditions, or professional instruction where the ground warrants it.
Not sponsored. No affiliate links, no paid placements, no review units. If that ever changes it will be stated on the page it affects.
Not about winter. Everything here describes summer walking on marked routes. Glacier travel, avalanche terrain and winter mountaineering need training this site does not provide.
Not comprehensive. Eight routes out of thousands, chosen because the planning information around them is unusually badly presented elsewhere.
